사단법인 한국기초조형학회는 ‘기초조형’을 중심으로 한 ‘학문’과 ‘창작’ 활동의 성과를 공유하고, 사회적인 공유 가치와 의미를 되새기고자 연 2회(춘계, 추계) 정기적으로 ‘국제학술대회’를 개최하고 있다.

대회의 주요 행사로는 대회 주제에 부합한 예술 및 디자인분야의 국내·외 석학들을 초대한 ‘기조강연’ 및 ‘특별강연’이 있으며, 유명작가 작품을 초대하여 전시 및 ‘갤러리 토크’를 진행한다.
예비심사에서 통과된 발표논문은 각 세션에서 구두형식으로 발표되며, 초대작품은 특설 전시장에서 공개 전시된다. 더불어 회원 간의 친목도모를 위한 부대 행사도 다채롭게 운영하고 있다.
대회에서 발표된 논문과 작품을 대상으로 소정의 심사과정을 거쳐 ‘최우수발표논문상’과 ‘최우수작품상’을 선정·시상하고 있다.

In order to share the achievements made in terms of ‘academics’ and ‘creative activities’, and to ruminate on the meaning and value of social sharing, regular ‘International Conference’ is being held twice a year (in spring and fall).

Major events of the conference are ‘Keynote speeches’ and ‘Special lectures’ in which domestic and international scholars in the field of art and design in accordance with the theme of the conference are invited. Exhibitions and ‘Gallery talk’ will also be held with the presence of renowned artists and their artworks.
Theses that have passed the preliminary examination will be presented orally in each session, and invitation artworks will be put on public display at a special exhibition hall. In addition, various events are held for the members to spend quality time together.
‘Outstanding Thesis Award’ and ‘Outstanding Artwork Award’ are presented to the awardee for their thesis and artwork respectively.
